Social media presence is very important. Whether you are a seasoned blogger or just getting into the industry, social media will have a great impact on your blog. Notice I did not say that it would be positive or negative. I just said that it would impact your site. Whether or not it becomes a positive result or even a negative one, is always up to the administrator of the website.

Clearly social media has taken control over the internet. It holds our potential visitor's hostage until you can come up with a plan that is good enough to negotiate a traffic exchange with it. Having a presence, and even not having a presence, on social media sites can affect your blog.




For the new blogger who is a little ignorant of what this type of media can bring you, or even to the professional blogger who has a social media presence, but ignores it, you need to rethink your strategy.

Twitter Facts: Over 100 million people use Twitter every day.  When you are not seen on just Twitter, you could be losing thousands, if not millions, of dollars!

Facebook Facts: Over 175 million people are “Facebooking” every day.

Keeping yourself updated on these types of platforms can be a full-time job in itself!  There is no way that you can stay “connected” through updates all day long. I will not get into all of that in this post. However, I want to show you how you can provide an excellent result through this type of media with traffic generation. Now, I won’t go into all of them, but I will show you how I do my own Twitter and Facebook accounts. Results From Social Media-Tip #1

Keep in mind that, just like search engines, these types of platforms have search features also. There is usually a search box in each of these websites where you can view different searches of your choice. This is that particular sites “search engine”.



Using Twitter-Hashtags(#) are a way of highlighting a keyword of your choice in your tweets. This will show up in search results in Twitter for everyone to see. Believe me, people search these things and you can get a tremendous amount of traffic from it. A good idea is to get a great dashboard where you have everything at your fingertips. Keeping up with “trends” of what people are using hashtags for is also a good idea to get your tweet noticed.

Using hashtags means that everyone who searches for that particular keyword will see your tweet; not only your followers but everyone. So you don’t have to have a huge following to get a great result in traffic. Research is the key here. For example, in my case, the keyword #MakeMoney is a good one to get into the searches with.  This would be an example of one of my tweets:

Results From Social Media-Tip #2

A lot of people don’t even bother with this one. However, I think it is a very important part of connecting with your potential visitor. Reach out to people. These days, we have all made it hard to get in touch with each other because we have digitalized making the connection. On Facebook, we see one of our “friends” make comments or post an update, and we hit the “Like” button. We would NEVER contact that person though! Why not?

When someone follows you or becomes a “Friend”, make a connection with that person. Send them a personal email or a direct message thanking them for following you or being “friended”, and put your link in the message. 9 out of 10 times that person will come to your site just because you made the attempt to be personal and not digital.

People want connections, and they want help with something, and you can be that person that gives it to them! I always write my new Twitter followers and tell them if there is anything that I can help them with, please let me know!

You’re probably sitting there going, “Yeah right!” but it’s true! I would help anyone that needed it! Show this in your message because sincerity in social media is lacking heavily!

Don’t just update. I know you probably have a lot of responsibilities and things that you need to do with your blog, but don’t just be sm2 3 Ways To Get Fast Results From Social Media those words that people see when you update on social media. Make yourself known! I guess this goes along with reaching out to people, but I think this is important as well. Browse other people’s Tweets. Comment on Facebook pictures, retweet someone else’s tweet. Make them remember you!

When I first started blogging, I would make it a point to content my followers and also retweet messages of others. After about a week of doing this I received a message from a couple of them telling me that they remembered my email and when I retweeted their post, they remembered the website. Keep people thinking about you! Make them want to come to your site and give them a reason to want to come to your site!
